KLOXERATE PLUS MC, Intramammary Suspension, Milking Cow

Description

Kloxerate Plus MC is an off white intramammary suspension containing per 5 g syringe:

Active substances:
Ampicillin (as Ampicillin Sodium)75 mg
Cloxacillin (as Cloxacillin Sodium)200 mg

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of bovine mastitis in the lactating cow caused by Gram-positive and Gramnegative bacteria including:
- Streptococcus agalactiae
- Streptococcus dysgalactiae
- Other Streptococcal spp.
- Arancobacterium pyogenes
- Escherichia coli

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients.

DOSAGE, ROUTE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

The contents of one syringe should be infused into each affected quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking, at 12 hour intervals for three consecutive milkings.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment.
Milk for human consumption must not be taken from a cow during treatment.
National label conditions must be observed by country.

SHELF LIFE

Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 2 years.
The syringe may only be used once. Partly used syringes must be discarded.

SPECIAL STORAGE PRECAUTIONS

Do not store above 25 °C.

SPECIAL WARNINGS

The product is specifically indicated for the treatment of clinical mastitis in lactating cows. It can be safely administered to pregnant animals.
Special precautions for use in animals
Before infusion, the teat should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and care should be taken to avoid contamination of the injector nozzle. Following infusion, it is advisable to use a teat dip or spray.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals
Penicillins and cephalosporins may cause hypersensitivity (allergy) following injection, inhalation, ingestion or skin contact. Hypersensitivity to penicillin may lead to cross reactions to cephalosporins and vice versa. Allergic reactions to these substances may occasionally be serious.
Do not handle this product if you know you are sensitised or if you have been advised not to work with such preparations.
Handle this product with care to avoid exposure taking all recommended precautions. If you develop symptoms following exposure, such as a skin rash, you should seek medical advice and show the doctor this warning. Swelling of the face, lips and eyes or difficulty breathing are more serious symptoms and require urgent medical attention.
Wash hands after use.
Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste materials derived from such veterinary medicinal products should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.
